Transferred from Holly's Nest Animal Rescue. Found HBC in Chatham County on 1/11. Reported bird would accept food if held near/above eye level but would not eat on his own.

Left elbow: dark green bruising, leads up humerus

Ectoparasites: none seen

Bird presents mostly QAR but strong and reactive to visual stimuli. Immediately noted condition of OS - very cloudy, pupil completely dilated & fixed in position, limited to no normal anatomy visible. L elbow is bruised dk green, soft swelling, with more bruising leading up the humerus. Crepitation felt while attempting to extend wing, swelling palpated on distal and midshaft-proximal ulna, radius intact. Head hung briefly while we picked him up to move. Anaesthetized under ISO and oxygen via mask for radiographs - confirmed two fractures of L ulna, decently aligned. Mandible fx unclear, will get better images at another time if necessary; callus doesn't seem to have caused any issue. Wrapped L wing, drew blood from R ulnar vein, collected cloacal & choanal swabs for HPAI PCR testing. Normal recovery. Large old scab on neck; picked off, some scar tissue underneath and very small soft tissue wound; did not bandage. Finished tx and set up in R10s. His head was drooped to his chest for some time and he started falling to his side, then startled and righted himself, held head normally.

---------
Monitor neuro symptoms. Continue treatment for mild emaciation and ulna fx. Consult with ophthalmologist on Thurs about OS and consult vets about potential surgical repair.
